Phase 1- Part 1
- Planning and Organising
When talking to Ann and Bob about this project, we instantly had a vision for their dream extension, we needed to incorporate a social space so they could still have guests round as-well as making the rooms feel spacious enough so that they don’t feel trapped.
Phase 1- Part 2
- Footings and Concrete
Once we had the plans drawn it was time to get to work, we quickly took down the existing conservatory and cleared the area ready for the footings to be made. Being one of our biggest projects to date we took out over 150 tones of earth! We made sure the footings were deep enough the steel cage to hold and then cemented them in.
Phase 1- Part 3
- Interior Walls, Exterior Walls, and Roof
Having a solid foundation is key to building a lasting building. Once we allowed the concrete to go off it was time to get started building the interior and exterior walls ready for the steel beams to be put into place for the roof support. By using appropriate scaffolding we were able to fine tune every detail on the job with no corners cut.
Phase 1- Part 4
- Windows, Roof Tiles, and Guttering
Once all the remaining walls and roof was built it was time for the finishing touches. Ann and Bob wanted to still make their living room spacious so a solution to this was to add a 2 metre bi-fold door for those summer days an to give the roomy feel they wanted. They also had remote controlled windows in the ceiling for ease of access and to help with respiratory problems as this was a concern of their’s.
Phase 2- Part 1
- Slabbing, Astro-turf, and Slab Edging
Oh yes! there is a phase two, the client wanted us to come back for more as they were so pleased with the first phase of the build however this time was for the rear garden. It had become very outdated and was hardly used throughout the year making it a pointless space to have. So we put our heads together on what they really wanted to see and feel and with that we transformed there old and non-pratical garden into a space to be used all year round, completely low maintenance and ease of access in all four corners it truly become a space to socialise and create memories.
Phase 2- Part 2
- Built in Spotlights and Exterior Lights
Finally, to complete the project and add that wow factor we installed spotlights within the sleepers to give ambiance across the garden and draw in the warmth as well as streaming lights going up the patio for a feature point.
